I try not to talk about Donald Trump because he is a narcicstic asshole and he loves nothing more than to see his name but it is also difficult to avoid. This is one of those instances for me.So after biting my lip for a few seconds, I have decided to comment on his recent ploy to protect his architectural changes to the White House. Forgive me.

Trump, completely without irony, designated the White House a National Landmark so, to quote the President, “It’s a federal landmark — and when completed and when we get the documentation fully done, legally binding, it’ll make it impossible for anybody ever to destroy this incredible space.”

Further irony is that the White House was already protected from anyone destroying this “incredible space.” Trump ignored them and flattened the East Wing any way.

Rules only work if people follow them. This means any gold hating future president follow the Trump precedent and just wreck first and ask questions later.

So, regulate away Mr. Trump. You have made following the rules as an option not a requirement.
