I generally support Israel. I want to continue to do so but the behavior of the Netanyahu government is troubling.

Here is what I am grappling with:

The Palestinians want to wipe Israel off the map. Or, at least, remove them from their present location. This is impossible. There are close to 10 million Israelis who don’t want to be moved. The Palestinians believe the 1948 partition of Palestine was wrong. The problem is it did happen. Israel is now a fact of life. Removing 10 million people isn’t going to be easy or peaceful so the Palestinians who oppose Israel are at choice here.

Sadly, they have chosen terribly. They are still trying to scare the Israelis out of the region. It isn’t working. Everything they have done has caused the Palestinians to loose more lives, to loose more land, and to loose more autonomy. They are worse off now than they were in 1948, 1967, 1971, and will you get the point. They keep coming out of each confrontation with Israel in worse shape. The definition of insanity is to continue to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Killing Israelis is clearly not working to change the dynamics in Palestine. The only thing that has occurred is a growing list of Palestinian martyrs to a seemingly hopeless cause.

Israel doesn’t care about world opinion. Or, at least, they care more about their own survival than world opinion. And the world doesn’t appear inclined to help the Palestinians much more than utter some rather meek criticisms of Israeli actions. Israel continues to bomb away while Palestinians continue to die. The world is standing by, waiting to see what happens but don’t count on much more.

The side getting the shit kicked out of them normally surrenders their army and their weapons in order to stop their children from being killed. Hamas isn’t willing to do this so Israelis continue to bomb the shit out of Gaza. The sad fact is Hamas is more than willing to let these children die rather than surrender. Killing children will not change anyone’s mind (see Sandy Hook shooting).

Why Israel continues their campaign is beyond me. The idea that they will eliminate every bit of Palestinian resistance is just as foolish as the Palestinians believing that sacrificing their children to Israeli will somehow change World Public opinion. It just isn’t going to happen. Adding extra Hamas hit men to an already high body count has reached a point of no return, Israel has won all that it can win and they continue to hold the upper hand in the region. Yes there is a danger of Hamas regrouping and staging another attack. But then that is always going to be a danger, given the animus Palestinians hold against Israel. They are as safe from Hamas as they possibly can be, why not see what diplomacy can do now.

The Sandy Hook parents lost their 6 to 7 year olds in one of the worst school shootings in the nations history. Afterwards, in an act that can be only described as heartless, some pro-gun rights advocates pushed the story that Sandy Hook never happened and that their children never died. Television personality, Alex Jones, unapologetically choose to help these assholes spread their vile story. Imagine losing your child and then someone telling you it never happened and that you are lying about it. Some of the Sandy Hook parents went to court and proved that their children were indeed killed in the shooting, and for his part in spreading the lie, Jones was ordered to pay them close to a billion dollars.

Unsurprisingly Jones hasn’t paid the Sandy Hook Parents the money they are owed. I could see that Jones may have trouble gathering a billion dollars. It is a lot of money however it doesn’t help his claim of poverty when he is galavanting around the country spending close to $100,000 in one month. He also supposedly has and additional $14 million in the bank. Why isn’t any of the money going to the Sandy Hook parents? Even if they never get the full amount they are owed, wouldn’t it be better that they got something as opposed to nothing? And let him wrong the rest of his life trying to make up the difference. Moreover, the less money this perfidious asshole has, the less money he has to spread unsubstantiated and hurtful conspiracy theories. Every penny he has should go to the Sandy Hook parents and hopefully at some point he will see the error of his ways.

He lost a law suit with Sandy Hook parents and he is trying to avoid paying them by declaring bankruptcy.

These are the Sandy Hook parents who lost their 7 year old children in one of the most horrible mass shootings that has occurred in this country. He promoted a conspiracy theory that the Sandy Hook mass shooting was a false flag operation to create opposition to the 2nd Amendment. The shooting didn’t happen, no children died, and the parents are lying about the whole thing.

Imagine, you lost your child in a senseless shooting and now some asshole is saying you lied about the whole thing. Jones is picking a fight with people who lost their children in this massacre. What kind of man does that? But clearly Jones is unencumbered by even the remotest feelings of human decency. He keeps picking at these people’s wounds.

His theory is so cockamamie that it defies belief. He claims that a large group of people who witnessed the shooting are conspiring to subvert the 2nd Amendment. If so, this is the most masterful display of deception ever to be performed. The parents are lying about losing their children. The police are lying about the bodies they found. The staff and children who survived the horror are lying about what they witnessed, the EMT staff who removed the bodies from the school are lying. The hospital staff who treated the wounds are lying. The funeral home staff who prepared the bodies for burial are lying. All of these people are lying about what happened. It was all a trick. Jones is asking us to ignore the testimonies of all of these people who were in Sandy Hook that day. Instead, Jones wants you to believe people who weren’t even in Sandy Hook. People who are scouring evidence, looking for minor holes and claiming these inconsistencies prove a false flag operation and thus didn’t happen.

To make matters worse for these parents, there are people crazy enough to believe Jones. These people are so persistent in their harassment of the Sandy Hook parents that now the parents are frightened for their lives. The amount of unnecessary pain that these poor people have experienced is beyond the pale.

And, when you think Alex Jones couldn’t go any lower in the cesspool he is swimming in, he dives even deeper. He now cheerfully wants to stiff the parents of the settlement they won in court.

That this reprehensible creature still is broadcasting should give one pause.
